On July 26, 2019, papers were signed to transfer 1.58 acres of land located north of the church campus to Forward Paths Foundation, Inc. for the purpose of providing housing for homeless youth and young adults in Lake County. We look forward to witnessing new life and vitality as God continues to bring the Kingdom of Heaven in our midst.

April 2019 - FUMCE and Forward Paths work together to get the first house ready for occupancy.

Eustis, here we come!

Get ready for tiny houses and two renovated 1950s and 1960s vintage places sheltering homeless youth!

Already, three young people live in one of two houses donated by the very gracious folks at First United Methodist Church in Eustis.

And this week, Forward Paths is negotiating the details of an agreement with Lake County for a $187,000 grant to renovate the second house, built in 1950, which is next to the first on property just north of the sanctuary.

A Community Development Block Grant would pay to convert the 2-bedroom, 1-bath home into a 4-bedroom, 2-bath for our homeless youth. The money also would build a garage and storage space for the house at 101 E. Woodward Ave.

After that? Tiny houses! Who can resist? They're adorable!

FP hopes to develop a very tiny village on slightly more than an acre behind the two concrete block houses. More info to come as the plan bursts into reality.

Thank you, First United Methodist! We're rescuing young people from homelessness and hopelessness because of you.
