What is the purpose of the Walk to Emmaus?

It is a highly structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people, and through them their families, congregations and the whole world in which they live. Emmaus is a combined effort of laity and clergy toward the renewal of the church.

Testimony of someone who attended the walk:

The Emmaus Walk is a pilgrimage that takes place on and within a spiritual environment. We "Pilgrams" are led and guided by others who have been on the walk sometimes many years ahead of us. The Walk retreat is led is led by both Lay and Clergy members. Through my entire Walk, I felt the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. From the interaction with other Christians, you grow and thrive amongst many kindred souls. Time is regimented for you and that takes all pressure off us Pilgrims. And before you know it, you're a member of the Emmaus Community for life. To those who have developed our Church's Emmaus Experience, thank you for the most wonderful blessing I have ever had.
